On 29 June 2020 I flew a long planned 1250km task from Bretagne, France to the Lower Saxon Hills / Weserbergland near Hanover in Germany.
The planning itself started in 2012, after my first successes in record flying, and since the logistics of such a flight are a challenge, I needed a couple of years of patience to finally try it out.
The Lower Saxon Hill region holds in my estimation an incredible potential for long distance glider flight atypical for our region.
This is the story of that flight, the concept behind it, and the planning that went into it.
